Welcome back, Kristin!

Many of you know and love Kristin Powell, who use to teach and work here at Scrapper's Edge. She's an extremely talented and fun scrapbooker who loves to share her creative talents. Starting in April, she'll be back teaching here at Scrapper's Edge.

I'll be using the Cuttlebug and the Heat Gun for fun card background techniques in April's Cardmaking Class!

We'll be making three cards, featuring three different techniques:

1. Cuttlebug Dry Emboss / Clear Heat Emboss
2. Cuttlebug Ink Folder / Dry Emboss / Heat Emboss / Re-Ink
3. Cuttlebug Crayon Resist Technique

Here's a preview of the first technque:

•Cut cardstock to size. (to fit in Cuttlebug embossing folder of choice)
•Dry emboss cardstock with Cuttlebug/embossing folder.
•Keep embossed cardstock in folder but open folder exposing the side you’d like to heat emboss.
•Apply embossing ink to raised side of cardstock.
•Sprinkle clear embossing powder on your newly inked cardstock.
•Heat with heat gun.

We were so excited when we opened our box of Creating Keepsakes magazines to discover that they featured this fun, spring-themed paper line. Stop by and get the magazine and the kit!!

Last night's Copic Marker "Blending Solution Wow" Class was so much fun!

For those of you who missed it, here's a few tips to add texture to your Copic-colored images:

Pick a material to create a texture and set aside. Good choices include:
A. piece of sweater
B. wadded or rolled up paper towel
C. textured gloves (garden, bath, etc)
D. terry cloth rag
E. burlap
F. twine

Color the area you wish to add texture to using any blending technique(s) you desire.

After the base colors are completely dry, use material of choice to add texture. Spray or dab material of choice with blending solution and dab it onto your colored area.

Note: If you don’t have favorable results, these may be the causes: (1) base color too wet; (2) too much blender soaked into your texture source; (3) holding your texture too long in one place; (4) no scratch paper or wet scratch paper under your work.
